# How to Handle Duplicate Part Names (Make Part Names Unique)

From Preferences & Costs, select "Preferences," then "Make Part Names Unique."

If this option is set to "Yes," then a post script will be added to the item name if it exists in the quote.

If this option is set to "No," then you can have multiple items in the quote with the same name.
