# How to Quote Linear Products Using a CSV File.

Quote linear products in SecturaFAB by uploading a CSV file.

The defined linear products CSV template is used when the linear items needing to be quoted are already uploaded in SecturaFAB.

 

Let’s explore an example of a request for quote of a list of linear

Fill in the defined linear products template with the following information

- Item Type — The category or classification that describes the item.
- Part Number — A unique alphanumeric code assigned to the item.
- Revision Number — A version assigned to an item, indicating any changes, updates, or modifications made.
- Quantity — The number of parts needed for the quote.
- Product Name — The name of the product.
- Length — The measurement of the product.
- Units — The standard measurement to define the length of the product. Typically expressed in inches or centimeters.
- Machine — The machine that will be used to cut the linear products.

In this example, more information is needed for undefined linear products. These are products that have not been uploaded into SecturaFAB.

 

You will need to fill in the following information:

 

- Item Type — The category or classification that describes the item.
- Part Number — A unique alphanumeric code assigned to the item.
- Revision Name— A version assigned to an item, indicating any changes, updates, or modifications made.
- Quantity— The number of parts needed for the quote.
- Product Type — The classification or purpose of the product. Linear parts typically being bar, structural or tube.
- Product Sub Type — A more specific classification of a product type based on characteristics such as shape or cut.

 

Now, let’s explore an example of how to set up the dimensions of a C-Channel using the undefined linear CSV.

 

For a C-Channel, we would fill in the following.

 

- Dim1 — Depth
- Dim1\_Unit —Unit of measure
- Dim2 — Web thickness
- Dim2\_Unit — Unit of measure
- Dim3 — Flange width
- Dim3\_Unit — Unit of measure
- Dim4 — Flange thickness (if applicable)
- Dim4\_Unit — Unit of measure
- Grade — MS
- Length — The measurement of the product.
- Units — The standard measurement to define the length of the product. Typically expressed in inches or centimeters.
- Machine — The machine that will be used to cut the linear products.

Now you are ready to upload a CSV using “CAD Files” in SecturaFAB instead of manually inputting each line item.
